lights, colors, materials and their space.., Sandra Ainsley Gallery: the Distillery Mill Street Toronto

At the Building 32 in the Distillery District in Mill Street,
there was a gallery 'Sandra Ainseley' of gorgeous layout of the exhibition halls
with the awesome selection of the great contemporary art works.

I was so fascinated by the all the combination of layout, colors & textiles, lighting
and all the art works displayed that I took a couple of rounds of tour in the gallery.

This place should be my regular site of visit at least once a month. Bravo!!

Couldn't be better alone..: Italian Pedavena and Calamari, Restaurant 'Tappo' Building No 3. Distillery District Toronto May 20 2009

There was very strong but warm wind in the acute edge of the corner in the patio in the Italian restaurant. I didn't know the place is for Italian until they recommended me the Italian draught for the first choice of drink. Usually they provide a list of beers starting from Mid-European ones followed by Canadian or American. Never heard Italian draft beer for the first one before. But they did and I willingly tried one of course.. And it was soooo goooood!!! The brewery name was Pedavena!! I tried two more glasses and much satisfied with the sexy shape of the glass as well.

Roasted calamari was excellent with slight taste of charcoal burn and quite matched with my beer.

As I was wholly tasting the brightness of the gorgeous afternoon sunshine under the strong wind with foamy draft beer in one hand, my favorite train was passing by my turf slowly and pompously.. resounding the nostalgic rhythm of the wheel noise... It couldn't be happier..

Pasta & Beef over Pedavena Draught, 'Tappo' Bldg 3. Distillery District Toronto Jun 4 2009

My favorite place in Distillery District when I feel thirsty. The Italian draft beer of Pedavena was so cool & fresh under the sun in the patio when I first came to this restaurant. Not too much flavoured, the Italian one was kind of best draft beer for my taste. I love the golden transparent color, soft & rich foam and the live tiny bubbles which are incessantly being created from the bottom of the trendy glass.

This time I tried another Calamari with Pasta but I found that the naming of the dish just confused me. I found 'Calamari del Lomonari..' or something like that on the menu so I thought it's calamari. But I found that it was a couple of sliced beef with pasta. Taste was not bad though I was bit disappointed. :-)
